World Book Day Extravaganza - Day 4

HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY TO YOU ALL!!!

And what a fabulous World Book Day it has been. We started a bit later today, as I didn't have a 9:30 session booked, but by 10:30 we were off and running, as I read some of my favourite stories to the combined 1st classes of Claddagh National School. But then... at 11:30 and 12:30... we had a really great treat in store for the two classes that attended;

Paula Leyden, author of The Butterfly Heart (a truly beautiful book that is on my absolute must-read list for everybody). Paula spoke of many, many things African..... her life there, the land, the people, the many, many different languages, the animals; and gave a reading from The Butterfly Heart. All the students were enthralled. Their energy and enthusiasm was infectious.
(And then there was the camera crew from TG4... so we're all famous as gaeilge now... as of 7pm this evening.)

Thank you so, so much, Paula!!! It was  a pure delight having you. And I am really looking forward to your upcoming book, The Sleeping Baobab Tree (out in May).

If you're wondering how to find out more about Paula's wonderful book, here's the link to her website:
